D- Day
15 men,
Cramped in our boat,
The cold sea waves,
Splashing my coat.
Our boat gliding over the seas,
Crashing through the waves,
Whilst some men seem heroic,
Others seem dazed.
With a thud,
We hit the seashore,
The ramp’s about to open,
Acting as our door.
The ramp is open!
Men are mown down,
Others go over the sides,
But they soon start to drown.
“Come on men!”
One-man yells,
But his voice is drowned out,
By gunfire ringing like bells.
The sea crimson,
With the flow of blood,
It washes on the shore,
Like a hellish flood.
I rise to my feet,
Begin the charge,
Towards the firing cliffs,
Rising up so large.
People are dying,
All around,
The machine guns,
Knocking them down.
I crash into the seawall,
“Let’s blow the wall”
With a tremendous bang,
We advance to the bunkers tall.
I didn’t see the bullet,
Fired from Satan’s gun,
As quiet as a snake,
As deadly as Atilla the Hun.
Looking down,
I see only red,
Not long til’ I realise,
Soon I’ll be dead.
War is brutal,
War is deadly,
And chances are,
It will end in tragedy.
Global
Warming by George N
The
Antarctic is dying
The
ice is peeling
Animals
are crying
Have
to hope their wounds are healing.
“Welcome
to the news
Today
it is Global Warming
Let’s
go to our reporter John Hews
Surely
mankind haven't been that appalling.”
The
Antarctic is dying
The
ice is peeling
Animals
are crying
Have
to hope their wounds are healing.
“I
can’t lie, the ice is falling apart
No
hope to be found
It’s
like the Antarctic has been stabbed in the heart
It’s
spreading like a disease, it’s going all around.”
The
Antarctic is dying
Ice
is peeling
Animals
are crying
Have
to hope their wounds are healing.
“In
the forests the trees are falling like giants
Animals
are losing habitats
All
these diggers are causing riots
Employed
to destroy trees, like little rats!”
The
forest is dying
The
animals are retreating
Animals
are crying
Have
to hope their wounds are healing.
“And
that’s it for today folks’
Hopefully
today's News-Round was meaningful
Monkeys,
Polar Bears and Antelopes
They
are dying, and we are not that helpful.”
We
are trying our best
We
are not lying
Please
give your work a rest
To
stop the world dying.
Sanders: A Forgotten Hero
Child, let me tell you a story,
There once was a hero,
He was great,
Way better than you pathetic zero!
It starts in Kentucky,
The chickens rebelled,
And Colonel Sanders missed his good friend Bucky,
What were they going to do?
They won the war,
They killed the chickens,
To celebrate,
They read Charles Dickens.
Whilst he read his book,
He noticed a problem,
He took his disabled friend’s crook,
And said, “What will I do with, all these chickens?”
He scooped up the chickens,
He used his friend’s crook,
For he had an idea!
Past all his friends he stealthily snook.
Sanders started a restaurant with all the chicken,
And that was the start of the tasty finger lickin’.
In 1952 he bought the property,
It was very popular,
Like winning the lottery!
But something still wasn’t right.
Colonel Harland Sanders changed the recipe!
And after 1009 rejections, he found a happy taker!

The Creepy Plague
Doctors
The plague doctors
The most horrible people ever
Wore huge masks
And wore all black
The plague doctors were everywhere
The plague doctors waited
The plague doctors creeped
The plague doctors sneaked
The plague doctors killed women
The plague doctors didn’t care
The plague doctors hurt in the park
The plague doctors hurt in the dark
The plague doctors coughed near a victim
The plague doctors didn’t care who saw
The plague doctors were evil and scary
The plague doctors were vicious and wary
The plague doctors targeted girls
The plague doctors all strode around
The plague doctors harassed
The plague doctors made people gasp
The plague doctors destroyed people
The plague doctors ruined people
The plague doctors were cruel
The plague doctors waited outside school
Everyone listen up
I’m trying to help
Stay on the path
And always have a laugh

The Veil of Emerain by Ewan HP - Year 7
Deep in the valley of Altein,
beyond the watershed, the caves and the woods,
lived a soul named Emerain.
And what a peculiar fellow he was.
As he walked down the trail,
every day he would sing,
“As I toil tooth and nail,
the veil will prevail in its majesty!”
The local townsfolk inquirèd,
Although to no avail,
As he continued undeterèd.
“What a peculiar fellow!” they said.
‘Twas the eve of the 4th of October,
as the folk gathered ‘round, the town crier spoke,
“Tomorrow will be the arrival of the Duke of Rober!”
They erupted into cheers unaware of what was to come…
On the 5th of October, as it struck noon,
And residents gathered on the high street,
Expecting the stagecoach to come soon,
Instead they say Emerain in his rugged brown cloak.
“The Duke has passed!”
“Passed into the new land!”
In shock and horror, the townsmen all gasped,
“Treason! How could you? You shall be hung!”
In no sooner than a day,
They gathered ‘round again.
As the noose was applied for him to pay,
He yelled, “The veil shall prevail!”
Drinking
shots, gazing at the clouds
So peaceful and quiet, not even a squeak of a mouse
Melania came
in and said ‘’Look at the medias!’’
‘’What is
this?’’ He asked as he read it out
Greta Thunberg
was on the headlines
‘’What is
she doing? I bet she’s in it for the crowd!’’
‘’Oh yeah, I
didn’t think about that’’
‘’All of
this is fake!
All the animals are fine
This is
fraud for goodness sake
All the
animals are fine!’’
‘’I see no
difference, the grass is green
The sun is
shining
The water is
clean
What are
they talking about, they must be lying!’’
‘’All is
tremendous, at least it is for me!’’
‘’Stop
talking like that Donald!’’
Melania turned off the TV
Shaking her head in disbelief.
Homeless by Suraya A - Y7
I fell to the floor crying out in pain
Tears blurred in my eyes
She lifted up the cane
And smashed it on my leg!
I felt her rough hands around my hair
She dragged me out the orphanage
I said, “You wouldn’t dare!”
She laughed her cruel laugh and chucked me on the streets.
I jumped out of the way as a horse raced past
My whole body was covered in mud
My hunger was deafening, I hoped it wouldn’t last
For I was starting to wish I was back in the home!
And then it hit me
I was homeless!
It was clear to see
That I will have to fend for myself
I ran down the streets in panic
What was I to do?
As I passed a scary mechanic
I ran faster down the dark alley way
I fell to the floor exhausted
It was cold and damp
It was the bad weather that caused it
I soon fell asleep as quiet as a mouse
I then woke up as hungry as anything
My stomach murmured in agreement
My stomach grumbled at everything
I then saw something that would rest my hunger
I got up and ran towards it
The smell was sweet and delicious
I didn’t look where I was going and fell in a pit!
I called up but no one answered
Hours passed and I was still stuck
No one answered to my crying pleas
And then came my luck!
Two boys looked down and smiled and waved
I was going to be free at last!
They told me to wait so they could get someone who would set me free
It had been minutes since they came past
I wondered if they would ever return
And then they came back with an old lady
Could it be matron?
No, that would be crazy!
Then she looked down at me and grimaced
“Oh, it’s just you.” She sneered
“I’m surprised you’re not already dead!”
And then she flew...
BANG! And chucked a brick at my head!
