Sanders: A Forgotten Hero

Child, let me tell you a story,

There once was a hero,

He was great,

Way better than you pathetic zero!

It starts in Kentucky,

The chickens rebelled,

And Colonel Sanders missed his good friend Bucky,

What were they going to do?

They won the war,

They killed the chickens,

To celebrate,

They read Charles Dickens.

Whilst he read his book,

He noticed a problem,

He took his disabled friend’s crook,

And said, “What will I do with, all these chickens?”

He scooped up the chickens,

He used his friend’s crook,

For he had an idea!

Past all his friends he stealthily snook.

Sanders started a restaurant with all the chicken,

And that was the start of the tasty finger lickin’.

In 1952 he bought the property,

It was very popular,

Like winning the lottery!

But something still wasn’t right.

Colonel Harland Sanders changed the recipe!

And after 1009 rejections, he found a happy taker!
