Enjoy these Christmas poems written by Year 7 students on the last day of the term. For inspiration we looked at a poem called Daily London Recipe.
Merry Christmas Everyone!
The Purr-fectly Cat-astrophic Christmas
Take a cat of any choice and hang it on a tree,
Hear the meows at 2am and take a look and see,
Go down stairs, don’t try to stare,
The Christmas tree is bare.
You will find 200 grams of tinsel and lights on the floor,
Do not worry now you have an excuse to decorate some more.
The cat's not hurt, just sitting there proud and loud at the door
Next try to go to sleep and hear more bangs and meows
Go downstairs to the cat's evil lair and stare at the broken cookies now,
The cat shall scratch 50 grams of the cookies through the door,
It's Christmas night but it's alright
Put 2 mince pies out before the cat tries to fight,
A bang you might hear of holiday cheer, but it's not the cat this time,
It's on the roof and it sounds like boots and soot is falling down
The chimney's shaking and feet appear. You go outside to look,
there's a reindeer on the roof and a person in the house,
putting presents under the tree. Who could this be?
You sneak past the person and run upstairs to sleep,
the cat comes too with something in its mouth to eat:
a cookie for you and you share it with the cat,
as you hear the words of merry Christmas you slowly drift to sleep,
so enjoy this merry Christmas and this poem
from me.

Catastrophic Christmas Recipe
First, get the ingredients out,
Then, mould into the right shape.
Add food colouring to the gingerbread house,
Then bake until ready.
After made try it out to see if it's good.
Next, get the present that needs wrapping,
tape the wrapping around it,
then, add ribbon, and repeat.
Now, you need to get the tree,
First, you get in the car.
Then, you drive to the Christmas tree place.
Next, you pick out what Christmas tree you want.
After that, you struggle to fit the tree in the car.
When you get back you ask your family for help decorating but no one answers.
After 5 hours, when you’ve done decorating, you finally rest since it’s the 24th.
You attempt to go to sleep but fail trying.
You then hear a bang but think nothing of it.
You finally get to sleep and wake up at 4 a.m. the next day.
But, when you go downstairs there sare no presents…
Everyone starts panicking.

A Recipe for Christmas Morning:
You barely had any sleep last night
excited to open presents
woken up early for the big day.
Taking a big yawn
you jump out of bed
wake your parents up
sprint down the stairs
ready to see what has been delivered:
mountains of presents piling on top of each other
ready to be torn open...
you always save the biggest till last!

Christmas Recipe
A sprinkle
of sparkle and a spoonful of joy and happiness.
When poured in, take the bowl and pour in some magic
Throw it all over your house and it will begin to transform into a Christmas Wonderland.
When you have done that,
Go and celebrate Christmas Time!
THE KEY TO
CHRISTMAS DINNER
Take the key food and put it on the table,
take some Christmas Magic and chuck it all
over the food (don’t worry it does taste nice).
Get some
nice drinks and crackers.
Last and certainly not least
Take your Christmas Pudding and light it on fire.
That is your key to Christmas Joy J

A Christmas Served Hot
Apply one spoon of Christmas joy to an open fire
Wait for the fire to crackle
Then add to baking tray and leave in an oven at 221 degrees for one hour
Make a note to add caramel to hot chocolate
Open a fresh packet of Christmas trees
Add 1g of baubles and 2g of tinsel
After that, add a pinch of fairy lights
And 6 candy canes
Apply one cookie star
Then add to a gingerbread base
Make a salted caramel hot chocolate
Apply the Christmas joy sauce
And at the end add a pinch of Amazing Grace
And enjoy.

How to have a Magical Christmas
First, if you are lucky, get a Christmas stocking and
Fill it to the brim with sweets.
But if you are less fortunate,
Fill it with fruit or things you find that you don’t want., e.g. a teddy you got last year.
Next, get a tree from the store
Or you can get a real one (if you have the money) and
Put it in your house.
After that grab some ornaments from the store and
Put them on the tree and
Make sure you add a star on top.
Then put some Christmas music on and
There you have it - a magical Christmas for everyone!

Merry Christmas:
A Good Christmas Recipe
A pinch of magic and a jingle of bells
Will make your dream Christmas come true.
Bake your Christmas cookies and
Put them out for Santa to eat.
Collect the tree and cover it in green and gold baubles and tinsel.
Allow enough time to let the cookies cool.
Leave for 24 hours and
Wake up to see a blanket of snow outside.
Make a snowman and a snow dog in the garden.
Enjoy wonderful seasonal Christmas dinner
With a turkey seasoned with love.
Spend time with family and friends.

Wake them at exactly 9am and put them into parents’ room.
Drop repeatedly on their bed until they have woken up.
Push stocking in their faces.
Pour presents out and remove the wrapping carefully.
Make them jump on the bed in excitement.
Transfer them to the kitchen where they can force the
mother to make breakfast.
Move food into mouths.
Pour clothes onto them.
Drop them on to the sofa and let them play with their toys
for a bit.
Transfer them to car and get last minute Christmas shopping
for other family.
When back home, make them lounge about a bit more.
Finally,
enjoy the rest of the day with parents.

Take a nap before you go
because Christmas trees are heavy to tow
Next, get in the car and drive to the Christmas tree farm
Pick a tree that fits your liking otherwise it will be disliking
Strap the Christmas tree in your car after paying of course
Go back in your car and drive home
Make sure the tree is in a catchy place though
Decorate it from head to toe
And tada!!! A Christmas tree adventure. Bingo!!!

Christmas Gathering recipe
Lift yourself out of bed,
Get yourself into the shower,
Put on your clothes.
Allow enough time to have breakfast,
Scrape excess into bin,
Tidy the mess.
Make your way up the stairs,
Brush your teeth.
The evening has come,
Morning is done,
Take your shoes out of the rack,
Make sure you are packed,
Go into the car,
Then drive,
You have arrived,
Enter the door,
Take your shoes off your feet,
Greet everyone, and
Get ready to eat some delicious turkey!

The Christmas Cocoon Cycle
Take the tree and put it up,
along the corridor filled with holly,
make sure to keep it a festive jolly.
Take some time to heat up
a warm hot choc to cheer you up,
make sure to hear,
the great Christmas cheer
on festivity street.
Finally, calm and cool,
under the sheet
soon to sleep, and
to spread the festive spirits,
make sure to play
the Christmassy mixtape.
